Compatiblility with Bluetooth on '06??

Does anyone know if there are only a select few bluetooth phones that will work w/the bluetooth system on the '06 G's? or will any bluetooth phone work?

It should accept any bluetooth phone, that's the beauty of it. Basically, there should be functionality across the board in terms of recieving the calls.

I'm not sure if this is correct or not, but if you have navigation with the bluetooth, I believe that phone information is displayed from the phone? Can someone with this setup verify this? There can be some issues with the navigation display and bluetooth system being able to access the phonebook in the phone that you're using.

It's sort of like bluetooth compatibility between phones and bluetooth headsets with caller ID screens. For instance my bluetooth headset HBH-662 from Sony Ericsson will not access the Treo 650 phonebook and display the name of the person in my phonebook, whereas my K750i, from Sony Ericsson as well, will display the name of ther person who is calling. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.

If your handset supports the Bluetooth Handsfree Profile, then you are guaranteed that you can atleast make and recieve calls. I know a few people who have had phones other than the ones listed by infiniti and they all worked fine. I dont think the Navi in the g35 has anything to do with the phone system, but I can confirm that for sure in 2 weeks when I get my 06.

I have the motorola i870 and the bluetooth works great. The only thing is that when i say the number 2 when trying to dial or store a phone number, the car adds a 0 after it. I'm trying to figure this out and have no idea why it does this.

If you go to the Infiniti website, there's a list of compatible phones. This is by all means not a complete list, but at least it will guarantee compatibility.

I know that the PalmOne Treo is NOT compatible with Infiniti's system. This is listed on the PalmOne website. I'm not sure if this is absolute or if a simple software upgrade would work (seemed to fix the problems in the Lexus and Toyotas).

I have the bluetooth and nav, I can confirm that there's no phone information shown on the nav screen. All you get is an alert on the radio display that says "TELEPHONE" when you have a phone call. There's no caller ID or anything. You also can't access your phone's phonebook, you have to add a special one for the car. The car's phonebook can store 40 numbers. And yes, my phone is listed as fully compatible with the system.

As far as the call volume, I get the same complaints, I can hear callers fine, but they say I sound "far away". I just talk a little louder and say "fock you, i'm driving beotch". At the end of the day, if you're driving 6MT, its convenient as hel and I'd much rather speak a little loud then tilt my head to the side to hold the phone in place as I'm dropping it into 2nd and tearing onto the freeway.

The system needs some work, but its already a great addition.
