I don't think this guy was asking for opinions....he wanted a straight answer. But if you guys want an opinion, I love my base cloth automatic coupe, it doesn't matter if you paid $35k or $29k like me, it's still the same car, it's the car that I wanted, made just the way I want it. No Nav, no sunroof, no 18" pot-hole-poppers, no leather, just the way I want it. It's still the same 280-hp 2-door car that we all love. People say that getting an automatic tranny for this "sports car" is stupid. I say if I wanted a sports car (and if I could afford it), I would have gotten a Porsche. This car is a nice fast coupe, even in automatic. I didn't get this car to race it, and I don't want to shift gears so often.

To those people that equate leather with luxury, thats asinine, leather can be had on almost any car. Leather does not make a car a "luxury car", maybe it did in the 80's, but not now.

you leather haters are crazy......I will give you that the quality of leather is lacking in some cars......but I am sticking to my guns when I say "yes leather does = luxury. If cloth was luxurious, why wouldnt the top "luxury/exotic" cars offer cloth. Ever seen a Lambo with cloth.....no......how bout we roll up in an AMG 55 with some nice CLOTH seats......crazy, thats all I have to say....

i bet if you bought the leather coupe and pulled the leather off the seats and then advertised it on here as a trade for cloth to someone else, you would find a few customers. you might even be able to make some money. aftermarket leather is ~600.00 to 1000.00 (uninstalled) for a car like this

Would you really call a Lambo a "luxury" car? and you're saying that the only reason the Lambo is luxury car is because it has leather?

The lambo is a sports car, an exotic sports car, it has very little luxury, luxury does not mean "expensive" it means "comfortable and refined", a lambo is an exotic sports car, not a luxury car. I'd like to see you ride in luxury over potholes in the lambo.

Have you been paying attention to the thread? When has anyone said that Cloth==Luxury? There hasn't been any talk about that, at all. No one is saying cloth is luxurious, some people prefer it over leather because of personal preferences.

What I'm trying to tell you is that leather does not make a car luxurious, you need to understand that. Jaguars are not luxury vehicles because they only offer Leather on their seats, are they?

But to finish off this stupid argument, are you saying that because my car does not have leather your car is somehow more luxurious or better than mine? If so, please explain how, and don't tell me that you can get more options because you have leather, I don't care for those options.

OK I agree with you, no one said that luxury=cloth. You got me on that one. But this entire thread implies that its OK to buy a luxury vehicle without leather. And I am arguing that leather is one of the essential components to having a luxury car. Including ours. In my opinion, if you buy a car that is luxury in every sense of the word, and then get cloth seats, you have now just ruined that vehicle and all of the status it once had. And to further my point, there are a lot of big executives that make millions of dollars, and spend millions of dollars on consumer research that agree with everything I am saying. That is why all of the luxury car makers put LEATHER in their cars. Because as a society/country/world the large majority of people agree that in order to be a 100% luxury car, you have to have leather interior. In fact, I am going to call Infiniti and yell at them for even letting us have this debate. Cloth should not even be an option on any Infiniti.

No Jaguar is not a luxury car because it has leather. It is a luxury car, therefore it has leather.

And yes, my car is better than yours regardless of the other options, just because it has leather.

I think the major reason Infiniti offers a non-leather version is to advetise a low starting MSRP. My view is if you don;t want luxury, you are better off with a 350Z.

Well since this has become an opinion thread, I'll throw mine in too. I think the leather seats on this car are bar none the BEST feature of the interior of this car. Incredibly comfortable, supportive, and they just look awesome especially in graphite with a sporty yet luxurious look. That picture of the coupe with the cloth seats just made me think "GM".

Mozy, you prefer cloth over leather, and that's all that matters. We are just saying, and I am sure many people will agree with this, that leather is a luxury material. Why do you think they put luxury chairs in executive rooms? You like cloth more than leather, and more power to you.
On another note, if you run your car off the cliff, then you won't have chicks like the one in your picture follow you around. Well, they probably follow you at least until the see your enterior .
