You're nuts for going WOT with plenum and h/f cats and no tune. I give you 2 months before you're picking up engine pieces off of the freeway.

Why are you always so negative? More than half of your posts are of you basically flaming another person, in a "nice" way. Dont post unless you are positively contributing to the thread starter. Grow up already.

You're funny, The Vortech kit has it's own "Stand-alone" fuel and timing computer that handles everything as soon as the engine see's positive boost pressure. Right now I'm still runing a safe 10 in the air/fuel ratio at 8PSI full boost.
But thanks for looking out.

Well, I was not trying to be funny. More like I was trying to help you out so that you wouldn't have a major problem on your hands.

Previously I asked you a question... How much timing are you pulling and where?

Also, the Split Second / R4 software is far from a "Stand-alone" system. It is, at best, a very crude band aid type of a piggyback system that allows you to give inputs in 500rpm increments. (I know because I'm running it on my car). Also, the computer doesn't "handle everything" as you suggest. You have to key in values for certain not-so-specific parameters and these parameters CHANGE every time you change your cats, plenum, exhaust, headers, or any other mod that deals with air flow. This is the reason I was suggesting you get a few runs on a dyno and see what's really going on.

When I read some of the comments you made above I cringed for your sake. It sounds as if you could benefit from spending a few days perusing through the FI Forums on here and my350z.com, but I'll stop worrying (and replying) if that's what you really want. Best of luck to you!

We're talking about 'tinkering' with a system that comes rich out of the box. I've got the same system with the same mods as this poster has. Plenum, headers, h/f cats and a y-pipe (but I'm running a smaller pulley and hitting slightly higher boost). My first run on the dyno I hit 13.8 A/F at 4000 rpms (and it was getting leaner as they killed the run). I would have blown my engine if they didn't do a total of 27 runs tuning the car. Do I need to write a narrative every time I make a statement so that other UNINFORMED POSTERS can be 100% up to speed on what I type?

My point, which was obviously overlooked by at least one person, was that after dropping $10,000 in mods (or possibly a bit more) what's another $200 or so for a few hours on the dyno to MAKE SURE your car is running perfectly. Best case is you're leaving another 20-40rwhp on the table and you'll get that out of a good tune. Worst case is you'll see that you're not pulling enough timing, your A/F is a little higher than the gauge is reading, your EGT's are too high, you have a boost leak, etc... If I'm not mistaken the initial poster never posted A/F curves and he/she never mentioned having the system tuned.

Finally, can you honestly tell me that you've read 3500+ posts that I've made to make the bold statement "More than half of your posts are of you basically flaming another person, in a "nice" way." Didn't think so... So while I may need to "grow up already", you sir/ma'am should stop exaggerating and read beyond the sarcasm.
