My order was bungled!!!

Okay people, I need a little sympathy here. My order was bungled and I have to wait yet another additional month!!!

I placed an order in May but they couldn't fit it into their June order. I just checked on the July order and they ordered the wrong color! I wanted the new Twlight Blue and they ordered DG. They have no TB cars coming in, so I can't even compromise on the options. DG is absolutely out of the question (no offense to you DG owners, the car looks great in that color, but I refuse to own a silver car).

Are the car gods telling me it just isn't meant to be? Should I be managing my money differently since I want to buy a condo/house someday very soon? Maybe I should see about getting a Mini Cooper and save 10 grand.

I am depressed.

Re: My order was bungled!!!

Sorry to hear about your situation. I can sympathize because mine was even worse. After waiting for my order to arrive the dealer called on the day of delivery to let me know that my coupe had fallen off of the transporter and was destroyed. The only thing they could offer was to expedite another order through the system. Not willing to put up with another wait, and not 100% comfortable with the explanation, I telephoned Infiniti Consumer Affairs and did some searching on the web using the infiniti.com dealer inventory search. Within just a few days I located the exact car in another city and long story short I am now driving a coupe (DG exterior btw, no offense taken). Infiniti Consumer Affairs was VERY VERY helpful throughout the ordeal. If I were you I would contact them and explain your situation they may be able to find an exact match and arrange to have it transferred/exchanged to your local dealer.

Shelleycat, Sorry to hear about the major screwup. Personally I think the car gods are telling you these peeps your dealing with are a bunch of dorks. I think you should go there and HARD.
Can they not find another TB somewhere equipped your way, and trade for it?
Try going on Infiniti's website yourself. There may be something somewhere that suits.
If all else fails, you've been patient this far, another month should be cake for ya. lol

I was gonna offer my car for you to drive, but you wouldn't like it. (guess what colour).

Re: My order was bungled!!!

thanks guys! your suggestions are helpful and your concern is appreciated.

I did check on whether they could do a trade with another dealership and they said no. Maybe that was just laziness talking.

I've got another 3 weeks or so before I'll have enough cash to do what I want, so I think I'll be searching around for the car I want then. I'd consider the TB's at Riverside but they all have aero and performace tire, and I decided I really don't want to spend the money for the performance tires year after year, especially since I'll probably be looking at a 68 mile commute (round trip) once I get a place. Sigh.

Usually I wouldn't be so upset but this is the 2nd delay, not the first! argh!

Re: My order was bungled!!!

Hey Shelley, sorry to hear about the mixed up of your order. I really think you should stick to it and wait until they get the one you wanted. You won't be happy with a Mini. When I looked for mine, I refused to put in an order from any dealer, because I didn't like to be commited that way. Maybe I just cheap...he...hee, but I didn't want to part with my $100 for just the right to order a car. I ended up working with 5 dealers (Glendale, Monrovia, Monclair, Cerritos, and Riverside) and at least 2 sales persons from each. I told each sales the color and option I wanted. Ofcourse I got tons of calls from them trying to sell me different spec cars. One morning some one from Monclair called and told me that she got the car. I just could not believe it, told my boss got an emergency and took off to Monclair. Sure enough my car is there, just off the truck, still have all the plastic covers all over it with 4 mile on the odo. Not sure if this just luck or what but, I got my car exactly 2 weeks after my first call to an Infiniti dealer. Any way, that is the story of my quest for my passion...
Did you ever gotten your brochure back yet? I still have the one extra one for you if you still wanted. Send me a private msg. I tried to private msg you, but maybe you didn't get it.
Good luck Shelley!!

Re: My order was bungled!!!

Sounds like you went to your dealer and asked them to trade with another dealer to get you the car sooner.

Of course they said no. There is no win it it for them to help you with this, since you already agreed to wait for the next one. Take this matter into your own hands....pick up the phone to Infiniti customer care (not the dealer!) and dont settle for anything less then them locating your exact car on a lot somewhere in the country and shipping it asap to your dealership. And at no cost to you, tell them to bill your dealership, since they screwed up. Remember, even though it is a rare car, there is one out there, right now, its just a matter of motivating the right people at Infiniti to do the right thing and get you your car. I have dealt with these people enough to know that if you figure out the system, you can make them do anything.
.

......my 2 cents...

Buy the CONDO first. When your lending company looks at your credit report, etc, you will qualify for a larger loan. Being that it is a seller market, property is so damm expensive. I know, i'm in escrow right now. Also the interest rates is sky rocketing.

I agree with Wreck:
Buy the Condo first! The rates are going up. I got my refied my house loan at 4.3% for a 15yr 6 months ago. It's over 5% now. Save up again for the down and then buy the car. Rates will not be going down again for years.
