Total Infiniti Newbie
Total Infiniti Newbie
Just had some everyday questions about Infiniti service and what types of mods are available for the G35C as of today. I am a moderator at one of the biggest BMW sites and I am selling my 3 series for a 03 G35C.
Any help would be much appreciated

welcome to the g35 site! as a moderator you're probably familiar with all the diff techniques of research so I won't bore you with them....suffice to say that this site as well as the others devoted to G35's all have a search function to be able to look for great topics.
to summarize, at the moment there appear to be a couple of ecu mods in progress, several exhaust systems-some of which are dual catback and some single pipe; several suspension mods from sway bars to coilovers from the popular makers, several diff intakes again from the popular makers, many diff wheels, brake pads, body cladding and full aero kits, spoilers, a couple of headers are either being developed or are in testing now, side marker lites, etc.
one of the good things about the GCoupe is that it is closely related to the 350Z, and most of that aftermarket componentry will fit with only a few mods on the G35C. Also, it doesn't hurt that the aftermarket has taken notice of the fact that Nissan/Infiniti initially planned about 12K GC cars sold in '03.
So far, they've had to increase production to meet demand and are hitting about 18K-19K right now for a minimum 50% increase in sales over projections in this one model (something that's probably never happened before in Infiniti's history). This, in addition to the more prolific sedan sales, with some owners of sedans wanting similar performance parts to the coupe's.
that's all for now. Ask away. and welcome.

Hey UltimateOne. When I saw your screen name I thought to myself, "isn't there an UltimateOne on e46fanatics.com?" Well what do you know!!! Welcome. Before I bought my Coupe, I was deciding between a 3-series and obviously a G35 Coupe. I am happy to say that I am happy with my decision.
As the above posts have mentioned, mods for the Coupe are not as plentiful as mods for the 3-series. There are more cheaper type mods for the BMW (i.e. eyelids, DDE's, etc.) but I think it may have to do with the amount of years the e46 has been out. I gather that with time, mods for the Coupe will become more apparent and available. I myself have not bought any mods for my Coupe yet (I"ve only had it for 2 weeks though).
I'm planning on the Borla exhaust, possibly the GruppeM intake from Samir at Renn-Sport once I see a dyno, and maybe some clears. I am getting a clear bra installed in a couple of weeks, which as you continue to read our posts, seems like a necessity. Also check out www.freshalloy.com and www.my350z.com. Both of those have dedicated G35 Coupe forums.
Happy modding.
