Have you test driven a G35 Coupe yet?

I think that by asking people on this forum for suggestions.. you're going to get a lopsided opinion, because we all drive G35 Coupes, and probably none of us also own an IS250, while maybe only a handful have driven them once or twice.

I love my G35 Coupe... but I don't drive it in winter. The only thing that I don't really like about it is it's winter-driving abilities... but I have a truck that I use for winter driving in snow and stuff. The G35 could use more power too.... but what car can't? The G35 is certainly not slow, but it's probably faster than about 80% of the cars on the road.

Having a fast car is real fun... but is it something you need, or just want?

How's the fuel economy on your IS250? The G35 gets about 22-24 MPG combined if you drive it pretty light, and about 17 or 18 MPG if you're a little harder, and maybe 12-13 MPG if you're a maniac.

Thanks for all of the responses. I have been averaging 25-27 MPG (that is good for the Washington Metro Area). While I am happy with my purchase, I think that I could have bought more car for ther money. Don't get me wrong, the IS250 is an improvement over the IS300 in terms of it's interior. However, I am not happy with the overall power and lackluster pick up. I am not looking for AMG or M-series performance, but I like the comfort in knowing that I have it when I need it. While I like the new styling of the IS250, the G35 Coupe looks damn good. It looks like a sprinter car.....

I still have a little time to make up my mind.....

Thanks.....

12-13mpg? wow...that sounds pretty low even if you drive your car hard.

anyway, i think IS250 is a great car and if you've already purchased it there's nothing to worry about. why would you want to lose thousands of dollars on a trade? two totally different vehicles, both awesome cars, i don't think you made a bad choice. stick with it for a while.

Ya, you're kind of out of luck now - I definitely wouldn't take the hit trading in a car after a month. Luckily the IS250 is a fine car and will serve you well. It might not have a lot of power but it looks nice and will drive in almost any conditions while getting good mpg. Next time you buy a car you'll know that you want a little more power - good lesson to learn.

Congrats on the IS 250. It's a great car and you should feel proud to have it. There's no such thing as a perfect car otherwise none of us would be on the boards or making mods to our cars. Enjoy your new ride.

With the thousands you'd lose on trading the car in for the G....do some research and see how you could spend a couple thousand in your IS to make it faster.
