I thought the 18in 7 spoke wheels only came with the brembo brakes? Why do I keep seeing coupes with the premium wheels and no brembo's? Or are they brembo brakes without the gold covers?

brembos only come on the 6speed Manual... you probably Automatics with the Tire and Wheel package but they don't come with brembos...

 

You can get the 18's without the Bimbo's..

I didn't realize only the 6mt got the brembo's. I dont get it though, the automatics are fast cars also, why shouldn't they get the big brakes? And does anyone know if there is any real stopping difference between the two? Just curious....

You won't really notice a difference unless you're on a highway going 130 to 140mph and need to slow down. I guess they're easier on your brake pads... But you won't notice the difference unless you're braking really heavily at over the speeds in the tripple digits (over 100mph)...

You can get waaaaaaaay better aftermarket systems on an auto then Brembo's... and at a more inexpensive then the Brembo's as well....

After discussions with other people, I think that the metal composite brake material on the Brembo's is supposed to provide a longer braking life than the standard brakes (by almost 2x)... That is one reason why they are so much more expensive.

You are also right in that they will make a difference at higher speeds and at higher temperatures, because the brembo brake composite metal is more temperature resistant and will not wear as quickly... and still provide more solid braking...

Honestly, that was one of the main reasons that I chose the 6MT... I love manual, but I also wanted sick braking... Even though Motortrend says that the 60-0 braking difference is only 2ft between the coupe and sedan.... what about braking at 120mph and possibly saving your life??? What is the point of buying such a powerful car if you aren't going to use the performance?

I'll be honest and admit it now... I didn't get the car for it's power.. When I *FIRST* seen the car on the road I got it cuz it looked soooooooooo sweeet man I swear I didn't care if a Yugo could smoke it I'd still love to have it and cruise around in it. Finding out when I bought it that it had 280hp was a shocker... I was honestly expecting probably 190 to 200hp... You can get some pretty sick performance brakes for less price then adding the Brembo's... like the brakes the Supercharged Auto coupe had at the Stillen day... but sad and true.. I didn't get the car for it's power.. .I got it for it's looks... Finding out the power it had when I bought it was a +... Soon as I get some new and bigger shoes for my car and some nice new tires... I'm going to get some a new brake system but the regular brakes aren't that bad... But when I test drove a 6mt the guy wouldn't let me take it over 100mph though so I probably didn't notice it...lol.... He let me punch it till 90mph hehehehe... and felt the same as the regulars..

All these mods, shoes, systems out there and so little money *sigh*

Think I'm gonna get back to work and hope I win the lotto or get another raise...
