Help, do you think it's totaled? :( *Update YES IT IS!*

Well, I'm thankful I splurged and got the G35 as it may have saved me and my girlfriends life. We were coming home from NorCal after Thanksgiving on I-5 and traffic came to a seriously abrupt stop. Thanks to the G35, I was able to stop really fast and narrowly avoid hitting the SUV in front of me. Unfortunately, the two crappy cars directly behind me had no chance of stopping and nailed us into the Mazda Tribute in front of me. We then got hit two more times from behind (twice by one freaking car!). I'm really worried the insurance won't total it because it's only got 16000 miles on it and is an '04. What do you think? I need some reassurance!! I have State Farm by the way...

Yeah, I think because we were 'pushed' into and under the front car is why they didn't go off. If I'd hit them directly they prob would have. The rear wheel looks like it was pushed into the rear seat from that picture... I wish I'd taken more pics but I only have a few. I was pretty shaken up.

Looks totalled to me, bro. State Farm is awesome in these situations though. I got hit by a drunk driver a few years back and they handled everything; gave me a check, and dealt with her insurance company to settle everything out. I think the labor alone on that job is worth more than your car at this point... Good luck, and glad to hear everyone is okay.

I'm glad to hear it, I'm so sad my 1 year old car is gone but I'd rather put her out to pasture than deal with a million trips to the body shop. Here are a few more pics from my camera phone...

Sorry to see that bro, but glad you and your g/f are ok.
There's massive damage to the front and rear.....I'd say they'll total it n/p.

The key here is the significant damage to both ends. That's a lot of body panels to replace. It's rare, but I think they will total it.

Damn dude sorry to hear/see what happened. Good thing you are ok, the damage is certainly critical both front and rear. I hope State Farm will square everything off for you. Good luck and be safe out there.

Glad to see you are OK, and I also would rather have it totaled and start over than try to fix a ton of damage.

BTW, how fast were you going when you hit the other car, and how fast do you think you were hit by the guy behind you?

Traffic was stop and go about 45-50 mph. I actually was able to stop (for about 1 second) before being nailed into the car in front of me. It was weird cause I breathed a sigh of relief about 1 millisecond before getting creamed. I assume the car behind was doing 50-55 and didn't even hit their brakes (or the car behind them for that matter). It was weird, we felt 4 distinct hits 1 from behind which sent us forward then the smack into the front car then two more hits behind. When we got out we expected to see a third car in the pileup but somehow one of the two cars hit us twice!!

Glad to hear all that damage wasnt from a 20mph "fender bender". I've always been in SUVs and this is the only thing that really made me nervous going to a small car.
