Maybe you should wait. . . .

BTW - these models won't hit the streets until a full year from now... Then, the 3 year freshening will only be 2 years out... may as well wait for it. But then the 2012 will be right around the corner, with an auto show concept available that January. And then, there's the hover cars that are coming...

Why don't YOU wait til 2012. In the mean time I'll be enjoying the 'major redesign' on my 2007 coupe.
Actually, it probably will not even be out in a year. I bet Infiniti pulls a fast one, releasing it extra early, like August/September 2006 time frame.

The couple will be very suttle from what Ive been told. They know they have a good thing and dont want to fug it up. This model will be four years old. Thats not that old. Take a HOT selling car like the coupe and change it? Their not stupid!
Now the sedan on the other hand. Sales havent been great and this is why we will see the change.

He declines to describe specific changes to the G35's new styling, but says, “We understand what we have is a really good thing, and we're going to be careful with it,” indicating the '07 G35's looks won't be too radical a departure from the '03 model.

1. The BMW 3 Series had a few years on it and the G35 was something new.
2. The first generation LexIS was not a true 3 series competitor.
The second generation G35 will not have these factors in its advantage. Both the 3 Series and the LexIS are at the top of their game. Even in all its success the G35 still sells 2000+ cars less than the 3 Series and the second generation LexIS will probably outsell the G35 no matter how great it is when you include the prestige factor. This is evident in the sales advantage the GS has over the M despite the majority of the comparisons favoring the M Series. This gives Infiniti little room for mistakes.
I believe the recent refresh followed by the redesign less than a year later proves Infiniti is feeling pressure from their competitors and the LexIS coupe and 3 series coupe have not even been introduced yet. Half of this board will be gone when the LexIS coupe comes out by their own admission.
So im pretty curious about this new G35. It is usually a sure bet when you are dealing with Infiniti and performance but Infiniti and their taste in exterior and interior design is still questionable.

Wow, and I was just considering trading in my '04.5 5AT for an '06 6MT. I'll definitely have to wait and see what the redesign looks like once the autoshow shots are released (hopefully soon) later this month. Very interested to see what changes, both exterior and interior as well as feature-wise.
