Satellite Radio(Any good?)

I was curious to see if members here are using the Satellite radio and whether or not it's any good. I read in the brochure that it automatically comes activated for 2 months. Is this true? Thanks

Mike

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

The Satellite Radio is not available yet from the dealer. There is even some confusion/discussion if the button is wired to anything at all.

The dealers are saying Early 2003 for availability.

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

As for whether or not it's any good....I have had XM for the past year, and I love it!!! Let's just hope that both Satellite radio companies will survive long enough for the option to become available for the G.

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

My roomie has Sirrius Radio in his Odysee and well it repeats a little bit too much for my taste. I have heard the same 4 or 5 songs over and over. I havn't tried XM

And I think it's wired to something cause when I push the button, it says "NO SAT"

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

I can confirm that the SAT button does work in my coupe. I have the factory receiver installed in it... All that was needed was mounting the receiver in the trunk, and running the BUS cable from the receiver to the back of the head unit. I currently have the antenna (at the sacrifice of performance) on the rear deck.

I tried posting this info on another forum, but was flamed and challenged by a bunch folks that were basing their data on some generic memo that was sent to dealers.

The internet is a funny thing....

Thanks for the info. Was all this done through the dealer or did you have a stereo installer do it for you?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

I did the install myself, but I'm what some would consider an above average installer, though I don't install for a living...

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

Where did you get your receiver from? Did you use the Clarion receiver, or did you get the receiver that they are using in the Nissan Pathfinder? And are you using XM or Sirius?

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

The receiver is the OEM Nissan receiver thats made by Clarion. It's not the same one that is used in the Pathfinder, but is the same one that will be used in the '04 Maxima. I'm using Sirius.

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

OK, just becuase you ask sooo nicely...

It does work seemlessly with the factory system, and there is NO difference between this OEM receiver and what will be available for the G35...

You can order the BUS cable from you local Infiniti dealer today, and the receiver should be the same receiver that is available today for the Nissan Pathfinder... I'm still waiting on confirmation on it.

Re: Satellite Radio(Any good?)

How about some part numbers???

In one post you say it is the Pathfinder one and in another post you say it isn't. Some part numbers for both the unit and the bus cable would be nice please.

Thanks!
