dont drive in the snow
We've had more snow here in December than we have in years. With the OEM 19" wheel/tire setup it was dodgy in the snow but doable (less than 1"). Now that I've got OEM 17" w/ Blizzaks and with the traction control it's nearly impossible to break the rear end loose and handles better than AWD cars/SUVs without a snow tire setup (i.e. my wife drives an A4 w/ all season tires).
I spent $400 on wheels/all season tires and $500 on Blizzaks and mounting.
WELL worth the peace of mind that comes with it. If you're trying to drive the car with OEM wheel/tire setup in the snow - well, you're just asking for it.

Surely you didn't think you'll get anywhere on high performance SUMMER tires, now did you?

fabulustt7 sorry to tell you bud, but what happened is only because of your own stupidity. Dont blame the car, blame yourself, hopefully you lerned your lesson. Now after saying that get a set of winter wheels and tires and you will be ok. I am driving a 3rd winter on my blizzaks now and I have never had problems, NEVER! All of you people driving on stock summer rubber in winter are idiots! If you live in a place where it snows and you could afford this car, I am sure you could as well afford another grand for a proper snow setup, and an hour twice a year to switch the wheels. Again from my own experience this car is great in snow assuming you have some common sense in selecting the right tire and some winter driving skills. I do better in winter storms in my coupe than most 4x4 suvs/trucks on the road with their stock all-seasons.
So to sum it all up: GET YOURSELF A SET OF WINTER WHEELS AND TIRES! and be safe.

You'd think that if someone spent close to $40K on a car that they'd have the sense and understanding about vehicle dynamics and the product that they have purchased to not make decisions like driving it in the snow without having taken the proper precautions. Once again, I'm confused by the lack of (what I think to be) common sense!
Crack a magazine or a website and bust your head on some car knowledge! Haven't you noticed that your tires are sketchy even at low temperatures??? WTF do you expect in the snow?!
Oh, and I guess if you're spoon-fed and your daddy bought your car for you, you might not know $hit from shineola quite yet (or ever).

I totally agree dude, that as well as the pilot one should be on the front page of this and any other G forums before the winter season hits. It is amazing how many people have so little common sense.
I had a wrx prior to owning my G and found the "all seasons" on that vehicle to be about as snow worthy as our stock summer tires on the G. Unless you're riding on snow tires, you can't blame the car for it's horrible winter performance. And if someone is telling you that it should have done just fine in snow (with stock tires or questionable all seasons)...they're off their rocker.
For those of you keeping your VDC on in the snow...you don't know what you're missing. I guess I just like to let the back end swing out every once in a while...but have the traction when I need it. I'd much rather see oversteer than understeer in the winter...a lot easier to maneuver the car (may not look as pretty).
I can't say I've seen too many G's, Mustangs or Camaro's out in snow without winter tires...but I'm also in Minnesota where we tend to fully embrace the winter and won't let a little snow stop us from driving our car.
