COUPE CLEAR CORNERS
COUPE CLEAR CORNERS
Hey, I just got the clear corners for the Coupe.. and when i first installed them and turned on the lights.. then went from white to yellow.. so i decided to switch the bulbs from the old ones to the new ones.. and when I turned on the lights, they were like a faint yellow, not the "white or hyper white" displayed in the pictures everywhere.. do I need to buy new bulbs? please help? it looks really disgusting when I turn on my lights.. thanks

Re: COUPE CLEAR CORNERS
when i got my clear corners, i also purchased piaa superwhite bulbs. it made it look a lot better because the stock bulbs are kinda yellow and the orange bulb that came with the clear corners don't look good either. the piaa superwhites have a slight blue hue to them but i hear that will fade over time. i still like the look of them though.
Re: COUPE CLEAR CORNERS
You have to remember their original purpose. They are a "warning light" and the warning light color should be yellow-orange in color. Someone correct me if I am wrong but some states including California will give you a citation for blue or white hues on a marker light. Perhaps that is why the clear corner manufacturer sends them with amber color bulbs, this way they are cleared of the legal issue, If You like them white or blue you should check with your local codes, just in case!

Re: COUPE CLEAR CORNERS
You are correct! If it ain't yellow/amber it's illegal and you may get cited. But hell, so is front window tinting, but I did it. I personally don't have an issue with the color not that it has a clear lense.

badboyg2000,
they were "PIAA 194 Super White" bulbs. they only have a slight bluish hue to them, but mostly white. where i got them, there was a display case with all the available bulbs that you can light-up to check out their colors. i thought the superwhites looked the best. i think the color comes pretty close to the headlights--not exactly but fairly close. my only complaint is that now the clearance lights (the long thin lights right next to the main headlights) look too yellow. i was thinking about getting the same bulbs for the clearance lights but got too lazy to install them (there have been numerous posts on changing the clearance lights and you have to go in from the wheelwell inside the fender).

Re: COUPE CLEAR CORNERS
i got the piaa super whites at a local performance racing shop near my house for $15. if you're from the south bay in northern cal, it's the shop next to the wheels/tires shop on alum rock off of 680. but i would think that any racing shop would have it too. i believe there's one on tully rd in san jose as well.
i think for some people, ebay was better because at one point all the u.s. websites had it on backorder. for me, i bought two at japanparts.com and sold the extra one on ebay. with shipping from asia, if you bought one clear corner it would have cost after yen to dollar conversion around $74. it cost the same to ship two so after selling the extra one, i basically got mine for $50 bucks total with shipping =)

Re: COUPE CLEAR CORNERS
dude, excellent call on these PIAA's for the clears. I just went out and picked up a pair of the Xtreme white. Seemed very close in color to the super whites's but a little more of a blue hue. Since they didn't have the super's i got the Xtreme's. They look great. Way better than the stock bulb i had in there.
