Having Fun in Snow
Well, we got about 4 inches of snow here and luckily, I just got my snow tires installed right before it snowed today
My winter setup is 235/45/18 and 255/45/18 LM-22's on Kazera KZ-A 18X8.5F 18X9.5R. The setup is wider than I would have liked but for $520(only for tires... used for only 1000 miles), I couldn't pass it up
Thanks to Chris at Avalon Racing for fast shipping. Paid on Monday, and got them today
Anyway, the car did slip before the roads were cleared a bit, but I was able to get going whilte FWDs had a lot of trouble with all-seasons. I went for a snow drift session in an empty parking lot, and it was pretty fun. I spun out a lot but pulled off some nice drifts as well. Anyway, I would definitely recommend installing snow tires if you plan to drive your G through snow. I wouldn't drive it in heavy snows but in reasonable amount of snow with winter tires, it's definitely doable. With summer tires, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT DRIVING IN SNOW!! I can't stress that enough... Safe driving, everyone

I've got A/S tires and theyve performed excellent in the last snow here a few days ago. Nothing spectacular, but enough to get me by without fearing for my life, like I know I would if I had the Pilots on!
I wish people were more aware to the fact that you cant drive with summers in the snow!

I drove this evening with a/s on 17's(i have an oem 19's with summers in the garage!!! because knowledge is power!) and preformed reasonable well. I would compare it to driving any rear wheel drive vehicle with a/s tires. I drive everything from forklifts to 18 wheelers in the military, so I also know that experience counts for driving in weather like this. BTW, we got 4 inches in less than 4 hours here in columbus ohio! great for parking lot fun!!!!
Be safe everyone!

speaking of snow,
i just drove my G with 19's oem summer tires. Talking about traction, there was no way for my car to go straight for 1 min. I was driving around 20mph on 55mhp speed limite.
I really recommand snow tires.

Not a drop of snow on my baby. She's sitting in the garage. My $3000 4runner is a beast and is serving its purpose well!

Still no snow here yet (West Texas), but the cold (15-30F) has my summer tires hurting for traction, at least until they warm up a bit. Was taking it easy until the upper-midrange in 2nd and then put my foot into it. At 40mph or so, the rear tires broke loose with ease in a straight line. lol
Got my winter setup installed on wednesday and loved it. Previous experience 3 weeks ago on 1" I couldn't go anywhere. Today with my Dunlop winter sport m3, I loved it. Drove better than most FWD as mentioned.
I also have Dunlop sport M3s on kazera kz-a winter setup, and it drives reasonably well in a couple of inches of snow. However, I used to drive a WRX, and I definitely do miss the awd experience. I remember in a snow storm last year, there was about 6-8 inches of snow packing the WRX in my parking lot and the WRX just pulled right out - the roads weren't even plowed well
Anyways, it took me a while to pull the G out this morning even with the m3s- I gotta get used to the rwd setup in the winter.

Just a tip...
^ yeah, but is that safe? Anyway, I just drove in my summer 18" OEM's yesterday in about 7 inches of snow and it was quiet fun. I guess all you need is a little experience and patience, and you'll be fine. Yes, it took me 2 1/2 hours to get home which would of taken usually 40 mins, but today my pilots performed well, not one slip. So, here in chicago I'm gonna say that we average about 5-10 BAD snow days like yesterday, I am not buying a snow setup, I just won't drive. If I have to, I'll just go slow, be cautious, and save about $1500. I'm sure it's better to have winter tires, but as the person above stated, he still slipped.
