engine cover

I took my engine cover off after a few days of owning my G and was wondering if there is any downside to this. Will it do anything to warrany, etc..?

well, if something were to go wrong with your engine and they can prove that not having the engine cover on caused it, then you got problems. i've had my engine cover off for a couple of months now and had my car serviced. service people didn't have any problems with it, it's just a cover......

if it does cause a problem.... then the VQ has some serious problems to be uncovered. (excuse the pun)

I'm sorry but this is pretty funny to me. If taking off a piece of plastic voids your warranty than Infiniti has some major problems.

Be careful! With the stock engine cover off . . . Your G is predisposed to an incurable strain of Vehicular Flu. The first symptoms are lower mpg followed by high engine oil consumption.

You have taken some weight off the car, so it should be a little faster.

and it will keep your upper plenum from getting heat soaked which loses you power.

LOL, no worries bro...... and as Randy says, it will help the heat-soak issue.

Not really;... the more air space the better.
It allows the heat to migrate away.

I measured heat under the cover with a thermocouple.
& again with the cover removed.
Forget the actual data, but it was a huge delta T
