Cool

Mine is the exact same.

Nothing wrong.....that is just the way it is.

You don't need 1st gear if you are rolling at all, only from a dead stop.

You can get it to go into 1st by rev matching if you get the hang of it.

well.. same to me.... it doesn't happen all the time.. .but most of time it happens... ?? and the thing is that when you are rolling like 2 ~ 10mph and u need to move quickly, then don't you need to go into 1st, cuz if you go into 2nd and try to bust out, it won't give you much power to push out.....
???

WHS^

I don't know why you would want to downshift at that low speed rather than acclerate in 2nd or wait until you are stopped to shift.

This has been covered many, many, *many* times. It's normal. Don't worry.

That's just how it is

Having drivlen M/T's off and on for 40 years let me assure you you have no problems ........ trying to match synchros into lowest gear is ike hitting a target moving too fast.
Call it naure ofl the beast.

So is there no first gear lockout, or is this related to it?

Don't do that, 1st. gear is way too low unless you rev match and that comes with experience but I can say I never go to first unless i'm completely stopped or very close to being stopped in all my cars & trucks and in the G I just use 2nd for those situations, there is plenty enough torque so just stay in 2nd... Been doing this since 1978.

Try revving it slightly next time to help the engagement.

most cars don't have synchros for 1st gear downshifting!

If you need to downshift into 1st, double clutch it!

It's normal, and worse when its cold out and the fluids aren't warmed up yet. Just blip the throttle as you're downshifting and it'll slide right in.
