Dealer already trying to rip me off!

Took the coupe in today to have a few things taken care of. Grease streaks, rattle in drivers side door, and grinding noise comming from passenger side window when operated.

First thing they ask me is if I had the tint done by them. For $350 obviously I didn't. The lady behind the counter already starts to tell me that the tint could mess up the windows. I proceede to tell them to cal me if they are planning to charge me anything cause I dont want them to touch it. Then I get teh quick line that they have to take the door apart to look at it. Of course what she probably doesn't realize is that that door is comming apart to fix the grease anyway so I dont want any crap from them as far as that goes.

I know the dealer doesn't make as much from warrenty repairs but I dont feel like I should have to pay extra for this stuff. Tint is tint it's not gonna affect the window motor. Anyone else get sh*t from the dealer for tint?

Should be interesting to see where this one goes. The G35s loaner is fun by the way. But it just doesn't compare to my coupe 6mt.

the grinding noise is probably your motor/regulator. Mine had the same thing and they were replaced... fixed the problem. The tint on my windows was never mentioned. Had i heard a word about it I was prepared to tell them it had that noise since i got the car new... even before the tint was installed.

Good luck.

You got yours from Competition Infiniti? They told me when I bought my car that I needed to get the tint done by them or it would void my warranty. I have not tinted yet, and am hearing the grinding noise. I will be taking the car in when I get a chance. Keep us informed of what those fockers try to do to you.

I have the same grinding noise on my right side only. Are you guys getting it on both sides or just the right one? I had an accident that impacted the right front fender, so I thought maybe the noise was because of that, but now that you guys say that you have the same noise when you roll the window up or down, I guess its not from the accident. Thanks.

I have the grinding noise on driver side, the regulator/motor is on order from my dealer. It just appeared one day. Well, the day after I took her to the drag strip. I was like damn I broke her, but turns out it's a common problem.

They ordered the regulator and made no further mention of the tint. If they do mention it when AI go in to get the work done I'll just tell them I had the tint done where I bought the car Upstate. No I didn't get the car from Comp. Infiniti, the attitude there SUCKED and they lost my order. Plus they wanted some rediculious amount of cash for tint. Give me a break. If I sit in my car wrong will that void the warrenty too?? We shall see how it goes but it's great that we have a forum to arm ourselves with when it comes to dealing with the Stealer.

Same problem. Driver side. Been there since I got the car. Regulator on order, no problems at all from the dealer. (Windows tinted 1 week after the purchase from independant source)

Thats BS.. I had the grease streak problem with tints on and it was there before the windows were even tinted. It was a nationwide problem so don't let them give you BS about the tinted windows playing a part. No one in their right mind would pay $350 for a tint job at the dealer either... so screw that

Re: Dealer already trying to rip me off!

Well I took the car in to get the grease taken care of and hte F*@kers got greasy fingerprints all over the inside and outside of he windows. Naturally I didn't want them washing my Black G so I thought it would come right off when I picked it up. Not the case though this stuff wont come off. I almost got it off the outside using some heavyduty cleaner but I'm afraid to screw up the tint on the inside with the same stuff.

Any suggestions on a tint safe heavy duty cleaner??

I would friggin expect better from Infiniti. This stuff is a B*tch to get off and a serious Eye Sore!
