Im so lost with these MODS

prob a real dumb question but ill just ask it anyway since you guys are G35 pro's and know your shizit.
some guys at work where telling me that if i install a Cold air intake, then i should also change my exhaust. i was thinkin an Injen CAI and thats it, so do i really have to slap on a whole new exhaust system? and what the hell is a Z-tube do you have to install it with the CAI? or can you just install the CAI alone? anyway im lost and new to the mod scence any help or advice would be a great help,,, thank you all.

( just bought an 06 coupe AUTO black/black , didnt think much of it untill i broke the 900 mile mark and it was a whole diffrent car i freakin love my G35.
i also came from a 1993 G20 so yeah. )
Thanks again for any info.

welcome to the forum. Just wanted to let you know that 90% of your questions can be answered by doing a search (because other people ask these same questions too). So for the future, try searching. You don't have to get an exhaust when you get a CAI, they are both seperate parts. You can get an exhaust and not a CAI or a CAI and no exhaust. You can get both of course but its not necessary. Z tube is the intake tube from the Z, just doesnt have the resonator that the G has and it's a lot cheaper than a CAI.
