Freak Indy snow on summer tires...

...caught me by surprise on Thursday night. I was on my way up to Indy for a company party (37N/465 to downtown) when BAM—white out! (shuddup Jason!) Slowed the heck down and kept it in 4th and to my surprise, plowed through it with just a tad of slippage at-speed. Dead start from stoplights were the tricky part. Too torquey so 2nd gear with a slow let-off did the trick, but it took a long time to get up to a reasonable clip that wouldn't **** off the people behind me. Thankfully everyone was being verrrry cautious.

Scared the hell outta me, considering I'd never expected to get caught in the snow and the radar was clear before I left the house. No snow was expected for that evening/next 4 days...or else we wouldve taken the 4x4. Rare convective snow event it turns out. It even made the news. Damn atmosphere! The drive home was perfection.

WHEW.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of that considering I supposedly garaged the car 3 weeks ago. I couldnt help it!

Never trusting the radar in December ever again,
Jamez

Yeah, I noticed driving on a flat surface is doable on summer tires, if there isn't too much snow on the ground, but once there is any sort of slope, even a minor one like my driveway, the G becomes helpless, like a crack baby.
