Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this and if someone was able to get it fixed at the dealer.

When I'm turning the wheel left to right at low speed (mostly heard when parralell parking), I hear a dull metallic thump noise every once in a while in the steering mechanism. Doesnt happen all the time, and it only happens when I'm driving real slow, like when parking.

Anyone else?

 

Could be the tires groaning on the pavement as you turn the wheel.
Have the dealer look at it.

where are u located? mine is doing the same now that the cold winter months have come in. mine goes away once the interior temp warms up. i'm assuming it'll go away in the spring/summer. i've got an '05. i hear a thump every time i rotate the wheel... defnitely sounds like it's coming from the column. maybe it needs to be lubed up?
