i personally wouldnt touch it, and im not too sure there are going to be too many people willing to pay $34,000 for a 2-year old g35 that has not only been ripped apart, but has likely been beat to **** on and off the track more times then ive taken my g to the wal-mart down the street.

i mean yeah its cool to admire what hes done, and it would be nice to have my g put down that much power, but would any of you really throw down that much cash on a car that someone else has owned for the better half of its life, with a warranty that should still have 28000 miles, but is now nonexistent?

hey, but maybe theyll be an enthusiast out there looking to spend that kinda cash for a toy.

Plus, I put my reserve lower than my BUY IT NOW. People will just have to bid until they reach that reserved amount.
No, let me spell it out for you. Start the auction at the minimum amount you're willing to accept (the reserve in your case). Obviously if you were willing to accept $20,100 then you would have set your reserve there.

What was the point of that worthless post? I too have an eBay acount with tons of 100% positive feedback. Whoopie! That doesn't change the fact that reserves are retarded and just annoy a majority of eBayers.

And at only 730 posts on this board, I'd still consider yourself a n00b as well.

I just spend $129.01 shipping a 121.10 pound box of calipers, rotors and pads to Louisiana. If I had paypal fees and e-bay fees on top of that $2500 order, my profit would have been severely affected. I can only imagine what that would do to you on a car sale.
Actually, car sales are treated differently on eBay. $40 to list it and $40 once it's sold...that's all. Now, if you choose options like multiple pics and extra options, it's a little more...when said and done, my car will cost me $94 to list and sell on eBay...provided it sells.

The point was to show you that I have bought and sold on eBay many times.

You use low starters and reserves to generate interest and start the bidding. Yes you are correct to the ones that know whats going on (us) it's a PITA. But if you can lure in a noob that gets caught up in a bid war, (as I did once on a pair of headphones) you can make a heck of a lot more money.

I don't play the game, you don't either, but some do.

You're right on texasscout. In fact, Randy would be foolish not to use a reserve on something of this value. I agree that reserves are pretty useless on low price items (I've seen them on $10 items), but you have to protect your investment. I go to a lot of live art and memorabilia auctions, and nearly all the more valuable items are auctioned with a reserve - some auctioneers start the bidding at the reserve, others don't. It seems to be a function of the auctioneer and the auction house.

I've had ebay items not sell one week, and be overrun with bids the next time I relist them. If you're selling a $30,000+ car, I don't think you want to take the risk that's it's a slow week for that item.
