question about my coupe

i had my 04 coupe 6mt for 27xxx + miles now and when i turn on the car the needle sometimes drops below 1 and goes dangerously close to 0 is this common for most owners? it revs as i turn the key in the ignition but after the rev it sputters as the needle drops really close to 0 and makes it seem like the car is going to shut off and then makes it way back up to 1 again and stablizes. i never had this problem before and was wondering if this is normal or if its something i should fix. thanks for your help

Any new mods on the car? (like headers)

I've heard rumors that an aftermarket header drops the idel RPM down a few degrees and needs to be readjusted (timing) up a notch.

Could it be bad gasoline too?

??? what ???

04 coupe and I bought it pre-owned it idles at 300-500rpms... never sputters however.. I thought that was a little wierd with all my other previous cars but I didn't think much of it because it never had a problem like almost dying or anything..

I heard this about Nissan's too. I took my Altima in for service to the dealer and they told me we adjusted you idle per service bulletin I did not think much of it. I drove the car around the block and found it was idling between 1500 and 1250. I took the car back and he tells me the idle was lower then what Nissan would like. I told them to put it back the way it was. So they did and no the car comes close to stalling at light with the A/C on. Taking it back and having them adjust it to factor spec. You might want to ask them if they adjust your idle and just did not tell you.

just remember that the first slash on the tach is 0 and the second is 500. Atleast it is on my 03. So it goes 0, then 500-1000 rpms

+1.

Try some injector cleaner if you haven't for a while. It works wonders.
