I have black as well and keeping it clean is not much of a problem for me... better than my previous white civic kept getting those tar spots on the paint... that was a pain to clean!
I drive it everyday day and night.
I would have to say.. silver or gray is the best color to maintain but it's very common.

Cute car... but this is HOT
I have to be honest, athens blue was my first choice, but my order got botched up and I needed a car as soon as I got back to the states, so decided I'd go for either IP or Black. Glendale had both, with stone, and all the options I wanted. When I saw the IP up close, and it was sign the dotted line and its yours, I said no thanks. When the black came in 3 days later, and the tech pulled it around front all detailed, I got the biggest **** eating grin, same one that's on my face everytime I start her up.
It's your call bro, you can't go wrong with either. I see more black than IP down here, but get what makes you happy. The white is sexy too, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't agree that black looks better than anything out there when clean. I'm not so sure that you have to clean it all the time either. She doesn't look bad with a little dust, its just that it looks SO good when perfectly clean, we can get a little obsessive compulsive about it. The only thing that's ever in my trunk: tire shine, window cleaner, meguire's quick detailer, and a few terry towels.
Good luck bro!

once you go black, you never go back hehe. anyway i'm coming from a black maxima and wanted/ordered a brilliant silver coupe (for practicality, which is wrong thinking to begin with on a G35C). i went to the dealer on a sunday to look at it with nobody there. i saw a black one parked next to it and stood there for 30mins debating on another black car. black is a solid color unlike DG and it pulls the body lines in tighter so it looks like much more of a compact car compared to white or silver. looks damn sexy to me. yes, it's hard to maintain blah blah. i've had a black max for 8 yrs. treat the paint like a CD if possible. try to get ding-wheel-windshield repair for no extra cost (if they don't budge). lol good luck! you can't go wrong with black. read the first sentence again.
