1st Service Details
1st Service Details
I took my coupe in for its first service (3700 mi.) this week. I thought I would share the details:
1). Oil - they said Infiniti recommends regular oil (10-30w) and that is what they use. No synthetic at the Dealership. Since the oil change was free, I didn't argue.
2). Rattles - they solved 2 of my rattles performing the TSB on the rear shelf. It eliminated the sharp vibration rattle over freeway markers and a rear speaker rattle. Also the Bose system sounds "a little" better without the rattle! Apparently these rattles are common because they had a special form for me to fill out to identify where the rattles are and describing them.
3). Recalls - they said none appled to my vin# ( my car was mfg. in March '03).
4). Brakes - they upgraded my rear brake pads to the new improved version. (I had complained about a slight squeak just as the car comes to a complete stop).
5). Outside Temp Seneor Inaccurate - they said the factory is working on a fix (possibly a relocation bracket?). They will fix it when the factory solves it.
The car was there for the day and was returned washed. I had a G35 Sedan as a loaner. When I left they mentioned the importance of giving them an "excellent" rating on the follow-up survey. I said, no problem......

Re: 1st Service Details
Do you have the Brembo brakes? I have 1500 miles and they still have a squeak before coming to a complete stop. It has gotten less noticible but it still happens. When I asked the dealer about it, they did not mention anything about a recall, they just said give it some time and it will clear up.
Re: 1st Service Details
Hi gsg,
How much did the first service run you? I have almost 3100 miles on mine and need to get my service done before I drive to Vegas in two weeks.
Secondly, I have the 6MT coupe with the brembo's and my brakes squeak also, just as you come to a complete stop.. So, please advise which brakes you have...
Also, my temperature guage is not accurate at all... Did the dealership give you any timeline on this or what? Pls advise when you get a chance.
Thanks,
Jaime

Re: 1st Service Details
In answer to the above questions:
1). I have an automatic,so I do not have the Brembo brakes.
2). The 3700 mi. service was "free" since I bought the car there. Otherwise it would be $26.
3). No time frame was given regarding the temp sensor fix.
