settings -> system -> about bluetooth...

correction, the newer bluetooth broadcom stacks will work. I have paired my HP 6515 with many cars.

Like I said, series 60 phones work kind of crazy with OEM bluetooth handsfree link systems...and especially the 6682/6630/N90 etc...its a little tricky.
Thanks for you input. You're right, Cingular just released a new firmware (V.62...) for the Nokia 6682.

However, I have another dilemma, I just found out from reading the forums at phonescoop.com and testing it out myself that the phone I got from letstalk.com with the old firmware is an UNBRANDED/UNLOCKED phone! And if I were to do a warranty exchange with Cingular to get the updated firmware they will most likely send me a replacement phone that is LOCKED. So my dilemma is should I exchange it and get a new phone with the updated firmware that might or might not solve my drop connections or keep the unlocked phone.

Nokia phones are notoriously easy to unlock. Shouldnt be that much of a problem.

You are misinformed about the new series 60 phones that are branded to providers. For example, the 6682 cannot be unlocked by code (calculator) or cable. Nokia enabled RSA on the bootup sequence and currently there is no way around it except to go to your provider to get it unlocked.

4.62 is the new version and yes, the problem with the warranty exchange is that you'll get a Cingular branded phone. You can request the unlock code from customer care. Just make sure you tell them your phone naturally came unlocked and that you'll be spending an extended amount of time over in Canada or something.

btw, as far as coverage...PM me, I'll help you out.

You mean Widcom? I hate that company's bluetooth stack. I don't think broadcom makes a bluetooth stack. Or at least if they do, none of the guys from Broadcom I work with talk about it.

No, it's broadcom bluetooth stack. The 2 bluetooth stacks I dealt with were Microsoft and broadcom. However, I have heard of Widcom as well. I think they deal more on an OEM level though.
