The G got rated like #1 or #2 best headlights by consumer reports, but I agree, some cars are better. I drove a C55 AMG and those headlights were like whoa, it lit up EVERYTHING. 'Twas beautiful. The G's lights are great though, very narrrow beam pattern, but great lights.

I posted a thread last year indicating the non-projector G35C headlights have very narrow beam patterns. When driving in curvy roads without street lighting, the headlights do nothing to illuminate the corner. It is dangerous trying to take a trip down Mulloland with stock HID even with fogs on.

I know that the 06 projectors have wider beam pattern compared to those of us with reflectors. Unfortunately I can't live without the clearance strips. Oh well. Maybe I'll look into a set of dedicated sport lights for the lower grill area with WIDE beam pattern.

I had the problem; it was solved by a slight upward adjustment and now the light is really good... It don't take much of a low aim to make the lights seem weak; they are far from weak, adjust them.

The lights on the my 2004 G35 Coupe are by far the brightest lights of any car I've ever owned. The regular beams are equivalent or brighter than the high beams of most of my previous vehicles.

I'm definitely more than satisfied with the stock headlight setup with the regular(non-high) beams.

^+1

The only car I've had with better ones was a '99 Acura TL.

sorry for re-surrecting this thread, but does anyone have some explicit info on adjusting the 03/04 sedan's headlights?

Can we adjust them from the engine bay compartment like the following thread?

I went from an 03 sedan to 06 coupe and the first time I turned on the headlights (didn't know they had been improved) I am like wow these lights are much better.

I think compared to non-HID autos, it's much better but compared to my 03 Maxima, I do think the lights are a bit lacking, esp in the rain.
