Yeah, no one is born knowing how to retrofit. You learn alot as you go, and then you get better as you do more. If you have opposable thumbs and can turn a bolt clockwise or counterclockwise, you can retrofit.

Here's my opinion on the "professional retrofitters." They're guys just like me, but they happen to have a small business doing retrofits. Some of the professional jobs that I've seen, don't look at that professional to me. There's one with a similar setup as my headlights, but the back of the light has about 2 tubes of JB Weld going on.

There are a few guys that really are good. Littodevil on hidforum is up there. He's able to achieve near perfect aiming everytime with rotational adjustment and carbon fiber weaving for shrouds. I'm asking for his help in hopefully upping my ballasts to 45-50W.

The hardest part is actually being creative. When you retrofit, you're doing stuff that no one else has done, so it's up to you to come up with ways to do things. This is not like installing a popcharger filter. I had a few nights where I was just thinking of how to mount the 2nd ballast, how do I insulate the heat from the TL projector to try and avoid bezel cracking, how do I limit the foreground light on the TSX to not hit the bezel, how do I mount the TSX and TL projectors, how do I use the bolts to adjust the vertical and horizontal, how do I get the beams level while powering the lights up in my living room, how do I mount clear lenses that are 2 mm too big onto the TLs, etc....

You're a lighting FIEND! Totally awesome work. I love the look of them and clearly the light output is insane. Very clean work, which is always appreciated.

Thanks for the input. The sun finally came out today.

The bezels are not blacked out. They just appear this way from the shadowing.

Ed, there's a pic in the thread on where I put the 2nd ballast. I don't know if it'll work on sedans, but I'll take a look at the setup if you want.

Awesome job E_K. I'm inspired to work on my lights now and hopefully I can retrofit my lights to your level. Did you get the projectors from an Acura dealership or did you buy them from an online vendor? Once again, awesome job.

You'll have to get them from sources other than the dealer. Im 99% sure no dealer is going to sell you just the projectors, at least through any usual means.

Going rate for TSX projectors is just under $200 now. TLs are going for $300-350. Check ebay and hidforum.

Good luck with the retrofit, show us pics if you do it.

I was just wondering, you can't do a 06 headlight with projector fogs due to the shape (oval) right? Just a thought

Sure you can, you'll just have to find a projector that will fit nicely in there.
