Do you Insure your pricey MODS?

Just wondering since some of you probably put $5-15,000+ in your cars.
do you let your insurance company know about them and pay the extra premium's? putting 10,000$ of mods in your car then getting it totaled without it being insured would not feel good

No doubt he meant 3,800.
If it's 38,000...then I'd be wondering if he's hitting warp 10 yet or not.

He's got a TT....so that's about 5-10k right there...plus he's got rim's, body kit, and god knows what else....

I don't know if he's really spent $38k, but he's definitely spent more than 3.8k.

im with statefarm... before i started moding my g i went to my agent to talk to him regarding aftermarket parts. he told me as long as i provide receipts and pictures of it installed on my g, it will all be covered if i get into an accident or if my g gets stolen. i asked if i needed to pay any extra premiums, he said i didn't have to.

i just put all my receipts in a folder and make a copy for my agent...did that with my last car and when the dealer blew my car up in an accident they reimbursed me from everything from my new tires to my nitrous bottle...paid 8 grand for parts and got back 8 grand plus the cost of a new car

If you are adding to your car such as amps, subs, etc., then do it. If you're replacing parts such as wheels and bumpers, you may not have to since OEM G parts are generally more expensive than aftermarket.

I paid the extra premium for my aftermarket wheels. I am with Mercury and for $2500 in wheel coverage the premium is $25 for 6 months or $50 per year. In hindsight it is probably a waste of money based on the cost of the OEM wheels.

No real point in getting coverage on wheels. OEM ones are 900.00 each plus tires.
