Re: Am I Getting Ripped Off...

find out the money factor.
multiply by 2400, that'll tell you interest rate.

bmw might currently have lower interest rate, and therefore lower payment.

also the residuals on first year cars are pretty hard to determine. if you feel it is low, lease, then buy or sell the car at end.

also, if you don't have to, when leasing, try not to put ANY money down. if car is stolen or totaled, gap insurance covers the depreciation and book value difference, but your deposit/cap cost reduction is lost.

Damn man you're getting BURNED BY THE DEALERSHIP!!!!!!

They are ripping you a new hole man.. Hell just buy the damn car and your payments will be lower and you don't have to worry about any of that lease crap... And if you don't want the car in 3 or so years trade it in!!! Sheesh that is TOO MUCH MONEY for a Coupe... I pay 500 bucks a month and I'm BUYING IT... and my ride is fully loaded...

You cannot negotiate on a car that they are only making 10,000 a year. Supply and demand. You get what you pay for. That car will be gone 10 minutes after you tell them no. Perhaps you should look at a cheaper car? - you obviously cant afford it. Why wouldnt you get the details before you order it? Youi gotta pay to drive the car of the year....

Re: Am I Getting Ripped Off...

MrElussive,

If Infiniti sold this car for $44K would it be worth it to you. You're talking about a lease. Step back for a second and realize you are not going into a lease to buy that car at the end. Sure the Bmw 330 is a great lease if you look at the $44K sticker. But do we all think that the 330 is worth $44K , Hell no.... Do I think the G35C is worth 44K, no... But look at the 330ci, is that what you want? Don't get me wrong, I love Bmw and the 3 series model, but it can't touch this car, IMHO. Get what you want, I know you feel like you're getting screwed, but it's a first year release, and they don't really know what the resale vaule is going to be on this car. Like I said never settle, get what you want...

Why don't you just buy it? Sheesh...

You would probably get a better deal on a BMW 330Ci Coupe or 330i Sedan.... Since I see more BMW 330Ci Coupe's and 330i Sedan's on the road then Honda Civics now...lol..... good luck, but damn your Infiniti Dealer sound like ****** ESPECIALLY if they won't budge...

Re: Am I Getting Ripped Off...

read article where the automotive industry is no longer pushing leasing. they are pushing buys. % of cars leased is dropping.

if G has low residual, lease then in 3 years, sell it yourself and pocket the diff.

MrElussive,
It sounds to me like you weren't into the G to begin with. Just because Ramsey didn't give you a good deal on a lease, you are going towards a 330? Well, good luck in your hunt for a 330. As I've told you, I got mine from Ray Catena, and I've told you the terms of my agreement. Call them and ask for Diana, she will find you a black on black, and you will get a lower lease rate. If you are ready to walk away from a G35 coupe, because a crazy dealer didn't give you a reasonable rate, you SHOULD go get the 330. Nothing against you bro, just want you to make the right decision. Good luck in whichever car you get.

Hopefully you guys will be happy for me, rather than saying "I prefer less G drivers on the road."...idiots.

I'll be cheering you on, MrE, and I know you'll love the car. Trust me. Aside from the exterior color it's identical to mine.

I bought mine from Ramsey and had an excellent experience. I never considered leasing, but got a $500 discount and an APR of 3.9% for 60 months with a $9500 trade in on my '95 BMW 325is (only $125 less than the KBB said it should be considering mileage, options and "excellent" condition, even though it did have a few door dings and many chips and scratches). My monthly payments are $543. I'm guessing residual value after the 60 months might be around $15-17K.

The best reason I can imagine why the lease payments are so skewed vs the 330ci is that currently, newer BMWs have ridiculously high resale values. Check out the prices on 1-3 year old "certified pre-owned" 3 series BMWs for a real shocker. Traditionally, Infinitis have rather poor resale (as far as I know, anyway). I think over time the G35 coupe will hold its value much better than other Infinitis have, but it's just my guess, and banks at this point, understandably, probably aren't willing to..uh..."bank" on that. So there's the crazy lease disparity you find...

It's also possible that demand for the 6MT coupes has actually increased. I've heard stories of supply problems with the 18" wheels recently, putting a crimp on 6MT coupe availability. Maybe if I had to do it again now I wouldn't get the same deal.

It is a good reason to consider buying the car though, even if you only keep it for the same 39 months. I haven't done the (estimated) math, but I wouldn't be surprised if the actual resale value, recouped after 39 months, makes buying the car a lot cheaper than leasing it. It might be worth looking into, although there is some "crystal ball gazing" in it of course.

Whatever you decide though, you'll have a sensational car that will put a grin on your face you will not be able to wipe off for a long time. Enjoy!

Why not BUY the car? 2 grand down, 60 months @ 5.75%, and you're paying $682 a month.

5.75% APR? WTF? Have auto loan rates shot up again or something? I bought my coupe on June 6 and got a rate of 3.9% for 60 months with a $9500 trade. Admittedly my cred rating was great, but I never even heard any APR numbers mentioned above the mid 4's. Has all that changed?

Re: Am I Getting Ripped Off...

Wait, you are going with $630/month payment on a lease??? That's pretty high dude. Why don't you go to other dealers and figure out what they will offer you. It's sounds too much, unless you are financing your outstanding Jetta payments through the G, which doesn't make sense at all.
