momo auto knob

Re: momo auto ****
It's actually quite easy .. there's a DIY if you search for shift ****. It takes less than 2 minutes to take the auto **** off. To install is quite easy .. just follow the instructions. If you have problems with the screws getting loose use to locktite .... I used it and the shifter is definitely on solid! It looks a hulluva lot nicer than the stock ****!!

Re: momo auto ****
To remove stock ****: pull down on the lower silver ring, then pry off the exposed wire clip on the white plastic base. Done.
To install MOMO: first, remove the plastic height extender on the gear lever, unless you want to look like you're shifting a UPS truck. Next, take the rubber plunger rings that come with the MOMO and forcefully insert them in the garbage. They are all too large for the **** and will get stuck part way down, so that you can never securely put it in Park. If you don't believe me and have an hour to kill trying to get the thing out, try it yourself. If you don't want to have a harsh, metal-on-metal sound when you press the **** button, save one of those rubber doo-dads and cut a smaller disk of rubber from it, then super-glue it to the base of the button. Finally, when you screw the **** on, make sure you tighten each screw a little at a time. The metal of the shaft is kind of soft, so try to get it right the first time or you'll scratch it all up. Then again, nobody is ever going to see that unless you put a shorter **** on later. Screw on the chrome base and you're done.
