Cool Mrev+ from a Roll..

I just finished installing my Mrev+ last night and my back is killing me, I took a drive for a bit and wasnt that impress in the beginning. After a few blocks, I tried to gun it again from a stop all the way to 3rd and this sucker went flying an SUV thought I was racing him and gave me that mad look and spun his tires after the light. The sound was awesome and it sounds like I have a bigger engine under that hood on WOT . Now this morning on my way to work, I decided to bring the G instead of my SUV with my wife so I can show her how it sound and that extra power, as expected she didnt care and just listened to the Radio! What I noticed is that from a roll if I down shift or just gun it on 3rd and 4th that it doesnt pull as hard compare to gunning from a stop. It maybe a slight better than before but I wasnt that pegged on my seat kinda feeling like what other people stated, it feels just a little better than stock. Dont get me wrong it did improve a little from a roll but not as obvious from a Stop! Any one notice the same thing? How can I be sure that there is no leak and the install is right? My idle look normal and I dont see any thing out of the ordinary. Its a great mod and I cant wait for the next Mod that Pasta and Tony are working on. I have that big grin every time I go from a stop but just a smile when in roll especially 4th 6th gear.

I only have the Z-Tube/K&N combo

That would be in line with the results. You feel the big TQ increase in lower gears and especially from a stop, while the upper rpm range or higher gears (of course, higher speeds) seems about the same because there isn't an increase in HP. I think you're feeling just what you should.

Hopefully I'll get mine installed within a week or two and will be in the same boat.

I know everybody is really excited about this mod... but it's not a turbo kit or anything.

At MOST, you're adding about 20 additional hp/T... not even 10%.

Don't expect a huge blast of power... not like you're bumping up to 450HP all of a sudden.

so how can Klumzee can keep up whith an M3 from a roll if there isn't much power on higher gears?

if u re-do your intake and exhaust side with the ability to reflash you might be able to just beat it.
it's just I don't feel that there is a big difference on higher gear, i think from 1st to 3rd but from a roll

Sounds like your MREV install went well and without any issue(s). With additional miles, you will find the sweet spot of this baby and truly understand how it will enhance your daily driveabilty. If you haven't already . . . Wait til you find yourself in a passing situation at some 4k+ rpm. This is where the MREV lives and enjoys playing in you RevUp engine.

I know not to compare the power to an FI, I came from a SC Honda and EVO8and know how it feel on Boost. it's just when florring it on higher gears that it almost feel like stock maybe just slight power increase on 4.5 - 5.5, but from a stop this thing can fly and really see the difference, now i'm confuse. so the only way to feel the difference is i always have to stop now?

I guess i should drive it more and see how it goes, as far as i know I'm probably the only one complaining about the Mrev. or maybe it wasn't as fast because i have my wife with me and that added some weight? but with added torque i should still see the difference. I still recomend it and i'm sticking with it

I know I did read a post that one driver is now afraid to floor it on the freeway coz it pulls so hard, then how can it pull hard on a freeway if I cant even feel that much change on higher gear? I think it's time for a 3.9 FD

Sorry for yapping but it's still well worth it! especially the sound on WOT. Still the best Bolt-on mod you can find and actually feel it.

I didn't say that. I pointed out that you shouldn't mistake the big TQ gain for a big HP gain, as what you explained seems to fit exactly with what the MREV offers. I'm not taking a jab at the MREV or something, as I'm very anxious to get mine installed. It's sitting behind me in a box right now.

Again, this sounds right in line with what the mod offers. The big TQ gain is going to be very apparent from a standstill and in lower gears, where TQ multiplication is so high and can be felt in the seat of your pants. The dyno charts illustrate very well what TQ and HP increases you can expect and where you can expect them.

As for the peerson you mentioned being afraid to punch in on the freeway, all I can do is suggest you take it with a grain of salt. There are younger guys around here in their first RWD sports car and who, after wagging the tail for the first time got close to a curb and have vowed to NEVER turn off the VDC again.

How can you wait and look at that and not install it. I got min 2 weeks ago and said to my self that it's winter and there is no rush, but after 2 weeks I can't take it anymore and installed it last night. I didn't finish until 11:30 but it's all worth it.

LOL I'm looking at doing it within a week or two now, when I was going to wait a month more. I've got a lot of other stuff that I'll have installed, so getting the MREV in at that time makes more sense.

I've got 4yr. old and a 4 month old, so there just isn't any free time in the evening for wrenching. Getting someone else to install it will happen faster than if I waited until I could get to it.

How much did you pay for the Nismo Headers? and what made you go that route?

I know the feeling. I was the same way when I got my 06' Headlights. I started the install around midnight, and didn't finish till around 3:30 in the morning. And I had to work the next day

I'm sure I'll be the same way when I order the iso thermal spacer after we move.

Bah! I paid too much. I forget the exact price, but it was the full amount they're asking at www.mynismo.com

I could have gone with the Crawford Headers for the money, but I wanted an easier install.

I've gone with a few NISMO items that I didn't really need to (Y-pipe, Headers, Sway Bars), however, I thought paying a little extra now might pay off when I eventually sell the car. For those not really into modding, the NISMO tag is less likely to scare them away, or so that was my rationale.
