In car dyno

So I was thinking last night about peoples 'butt' dyno's when I thought that to get horsepower and torque all you really need to know is the weight of the car and the acceleration. Which got me to thinking, with a carputer and an accelerometer combined with an estimate of car weight- I could write software for the carputer to essentially turn it into a rolling self dyno. On the carputer you could calculate horsepower and torque making real time graphs, show G forces from the accelerometer around turns, even use the RPM signal to incorporate a shift light- all in the same program. There'd be no reason to goto a real dyno again, and you could do all kinds of cool stuff.

How many G drivers out there have carputers? Is this idea valid? I have all the skills to program and create such a device, anybody interested?

This does all that. Its only an estimate though. People want real numbers. I was thinking about buying one of these, however.
