Question car integrity without bumper cross bar- because of intercooler

I'm a little worry about this. Now my car does'nt have the bumper structural cross bar because of the intercooler. What it's going to happen when I push this car to 150 MPH or more, some guy told me that in a CRX the bumper rip off the front of the car and goes flying because of the absence of this part, for those cars they sell a racing cross member that will fit in the bumper even with the intercooler. Any comments???

Another Thing, what about the structural integrity of the car???/

that front bar yes is apart of the overall structure of the car... you will feel alot of flex in the chassis without the bar... so during cornering you will feel different...

now as to structural integrity... the front bar is also called and affectionately referred to as a CRASH BAR... and in a CRASH the bar gets hit first and helps ABSORB the IMPACT... people who remove this front crash bar to me are idiots... without the bar in a head on collision you will die... there is nothing protecting you without the crash bar... at 150... it doesnt really matter because you will die anyways in a crash like that... but it may help a little ... at a 60 mph crash you bet your sorry butt it will help you ...

my 2 cents

also, if your insurance company investigates and finds you removed the bar, you could be in for a world of ****.

Well, 150mph collision you are dead even if you are in a tank. At 60mph your car will be totaled with or without the crash bar. Now more realisticly with your typical 10-20mph fender bender, the crash bar will make or break your repair bill. The crash bar effectively protects the frame and engine compartment of the vehicle, with it removed, a 10mph bump could cause thousands of damage on your precious VQ engine, and any associated FI components. (Not to mention your front bumper, grill, hood and both headlights.

Oh yeah, my cousin who's a insurance agent told me iif they determined the 'extra damage' on the vehicle is associated with illegal modifications, you just might have to pay out of your own pocket for the repair bill.

I hope you intend on pushing your car that fast on the track. BTW, let us know when you're going so we can read about you in the paper the next morning.

Had a 35mph accident hitting a deer, my G was Twin Turbo but luckily I went with the APS kit that retains the bar.. otherwise it would have been MUCH worse.

I couldnt see the bumper flying off because it doesnt connect to the crossbar anywhere if that is your concern.

crash bar is the difference between an "open casket" & a "closed casket"
