Gas Meter
Gas Meter
does anyone notice when you first pump gas into your car the gas gauge would be pass the first Meter where it says Full, than after a while it would be right on the first meter is this normal? Do you guys think it could be a sensor problem with the gas tank?
every car i've ever owned has had the needle go passed the full mark on fill-up. i don't see where the problem is. i would assume the reason the needle goes back down a notch after a while is because *gasp* the car is burning fuel?
I just had my combination meter(?) in the gas tank (or somethin like that...i forget the exact wording of what it was) . Mine started out like that, and after a year I could only get it to go to 3/4 tank on a full tank...Its under warranty...just take it to the dealer they'll fix you up (AND give you a free full tank of gas while their at it to make sure it works! )

I believe the issue to be the sending unit in the tank. See what the dealer will do. G/L

ive had my sending units (both) replaced twice and they still went bad...
moral of the story, stop wasting your time and stop relying on your fuel gauge meter!!! refuel after every 200 miles (half a tank)... which is preferred anyhow
