Thanks to everyone that participated, sorry about the outcome though. If you all check your accounts you will see that the payment has been refunded this morning. If anyone that participated did not get their money back please let me know.

How big of a discount was the GB getting? That much to lose a profit for Stillen?

Don't hold this against the vendor guys, I have bought stuff from them before and they have excellent customer service.

As far as Stillen, they make quality products and business is business I guess. Just a bad move in my honest opinion. Just puts a damper on my already horrible week...

Just what I was thinking. I'm not sure what sort of discount the GB price offered, but is a refusal of a $50 (or so) discount really enough to make you go from wanting the product to not wanting it? If you consider it the best option then the going retail price is fair.

It was basically saving shipping and a few bucks.

The vendor (IspecialistChad) was doing a purchase of several units directly from Stillen...most likely at a bulk discount, and then he was passing on the savings to others but not making any money. Then Stillen finds out what he is doing (through this board maybe?) and denies him the purchase.

Gimme a break. The guy is buying a group of items for a few dollars cheaper than I can get it for. Was it really a big deal? So if he (as a dealer) was going to install the product on 8 different cars on the lot would it be any different? Could I go buy 8 bars if I wanted to?

YES. I have considered getting these as well, but it was far from the top of my list of desired mods. When I saw the GB I almost jumped in on it, the whole idea of offering a group rate/discount is to get people who are hesitant to buy on impulse. Any nitwit can tell you its better to make a little less money per unit and sell a few more than the other way around.

I will most likely NOT buy these now, and I think my decision on intake just got easier (planning on ordering something this week) because this will most likely remove Stillen from my choices. Not because they are a little bit more expensive without the GB, but because of basic customer service and business practices. I like Stillen and their products, but they made a bold and rather negative statement with how they handled this. Instead of applauding the distributor and contact here for setting this up and earning them new business, they cut them off, pissed off several new customers, just to make a few extra dollars. Bad math no matter how you look at it, and a really sh!tty business decision.

Wait...I don't understand how this hurts Stillen. Isn't selling X number of strut braces better than selling 0???? The middleman still buys them at the same price right? So whats the difference to Stillen?

Because I take it Stillen thinks they'll make even MORE money by just selling them directly/

I don't think it was intended as a secret here...it was a guy doing something good for the community. If it were to be a secret, why post it all over the forum?
