i know the pedel method resets the ECU but does it also reset the vehicle diagnostic codes.

What pedal method do you speak of? I've never heard of this.

Yes...that is the major function of it - with the side benefit of the re-learn process.

I"m not entirely convinced on the pedal method - for example, after it the tranny still feels the same. But pull the battery overnight and bang, tranny feels like it's brand new, no lag or anything.

Tried it on my '06 last week after installing Z Tube and Stillen CAB. Worked on the first try.

I was able to tell a difference, but it had been a long time between resets. One thing though. The first post in the DIY section is missing the last step. Here's the process. You should definitely notice a difference if you haven't reset in over 3 months and you have an auto. Not sure about the mannys.

Turn key
wait 3
pump 5
wait 7
press and hold 10 (light blink slow)
release
press and hold 10 again (light blink fast)
Turn off ignition and restart

1) Turn ignition on, wait 3 seconds
2) Push fully and release the gas pedal 5 times within 5 seconds
3) Wait 7 secs, fully push gas pedal and hold for 10 seconds until the CES light starts to blink
4) Release gas pedal (you are in diagnostic test mode 2)
5) Press and hold gas pedal for more than 10 seconds. Release pedal.
6) The CES light will continue to blink
7) Turn ignition off. Restart car.

seems the steps are ok to me. they're identical. no?
