Maaaaaaaaaaan I was so mad, Went out and got my self some glasses next day.

Please, please at least tell me you were distracted, i.e. pretty girl walking by, steet sign flickering, raining, hail, sleet, fire, brimstone, etc ...

I would guess 8-10K. At least 2 new rims + tires, a lot of body work, new hood, grill and bumper, wheel alignment, paint....the list goes on.
2 weeks ago a high school student decided she was in the wrong lane, moved over one lane and right into me. Luckily we were both going the same direction and side-swiped my driver's door, left quarter panel and scratched my wheel. Her insurance is paying but the estimate came to over $1400, and that was with some deep scratces and a deep dent across the rock guard.
Cheaper to file the claim I think. Should have called the cops to file a police report, plus they could start a look-out for the other car. That was the first thing I did after we pulled off the road and made sure she was OK.
Also good to let the city engineers know that the light pole is hit and may be suspect to toppling over.
