please help g noobie car making funny noise

ok hi guys my name is ryan pietro. i drive an 05 sti , my mom just picked up a black 2004 g35 coupe 6mt with 19k on it. ok well when the car is idoling it has a slight knocking sound about ever 3-4seconds its not real noticeable but its easy to hear if you listen for it. also this is the noise that scares me. when i shut it off it makes a bad knocking sound. several in a row pretty rapid. is this normal if not hopefully you guys could help me. i know on the sti forums the guys usually help me and can basicly identify any problem over the internet. i dont know if you guys can do that, i dont think many people work on their own infiniti's. thanks hopefully i can find help. it still has factory warranty but i just wanted to see what you guys thought

kinda hard without a scanner.. but if you can figure out which cylinder its from then it might be a bad coil (plug). does it go away when u rev it up to 1k? our ECU does a good job of hidding it.

i had the same problem on my G but it wasnt the coil. however it could be a good start.. (my car was totaled before i ever figured it out)

edit: do you feel a rough idle? O.o

super smooth idle except for that occasion 3-4 slight knock, its not throwing any cel codes, it goes away under any load.

good stuff.. its not SUPER cheap but a good deal =). especially if its flawless.. the "knock" is a pretty common problem with the G i had it for a while.. couldnt figure out what was wrong.. let infiniti look at it really quick and they said everything felt fine and nothing was wrong -_-.. but yeah take it to a dealer and check it out... if the problem is fixed let us know what the solution was..

sry i cant help you nymore.. i know what problem you're talking about tho.. after a long/hard drive is it more noticeable?
