Talk me out of a C5

Re: Talk me out of a C5
Well, that puts better perspective on it. I think we are thinking similar things afterall. I guess its easier to say that driving the G35 hard is easier than a Vette. The rear on my Vette actually did come out once due to bumps and only a handful of small gravels. I wasn't even on the throttle. The G35 takes the same corners with pebbles and bumps like they aren't even there.
I did get used to the trait in the Vette, but hated having to plan corners with it in mind. Just made me far more nervous to drive hard.
That leaf spring is probably the problem, I agree. Also, the stock Goodyears are crap, but the Z06's Michelins are nice.
Good chatting with you. Save the wave!

The Z06 has Goodyear's too. But much better (and bigger) ones than the runflat's. The Z06 has Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars. They are substantially better than the runflats on the C5, and noticeably stickier than the Michelin Pilot Sports too, IMO. They are great performance tires, but have 2 drawbacks: 1) They are horrible in the rain (don't care since I don't drive my Z06 in the rain), and 2) they don't last long - about 20,000 miles if you don't track them much.
