Hi All,
I know that this question has been asked before, but a good response was not given.
Will the 350Z OEM springs work on my 04 coupe? I have read people changing them on the Sedan and are quite happy. It lowered the sedan by about 1". Has anybody changed them on the coupe? What kind of drop can I expect and is there a drastic difference driving with the stiffer springs?
Thanks and Cheers,
Alan

if you do decide to go with the 350z springs, make sure you get the struts/shocks from the 350z too. Otherwise, you're just gonna be killing your stock struts/shocks. A lot of people seem to be happy with the TOKICO D-SPEC shocks, and the Tein H-Tech 350z springs combo. Check that out.

yes. the springs are not stiffer though i dont think (someone pls confirm). all you will achieve is a drop of 1/2"

Actually the 2004.5 and up 350Z springs ARE stiffer than G35 springs. That's why those years are more desireable than the earlier years.
my friend is replacing his springs on his 350....so I just wanted to change to his springs without having to change the shocks. So you guys think that this will kill my stock shocks? ie. this is a minimal cost mod
Can you notice any difference in lowering by 1/2"? Is this mod worthwhile or am I just wasting my time?
Thanks all for your replies!

i used an '03 set. it dropped the front about 3/4" and the rear 1/4"
it is worth it for the front definitely.

sundeviljay, did you have to change your shocks? if not, any problems? and how is the handling now? the springs I would be getting are the 350Z 2004.5

Some ppl have reported more than 1/2" drop in the front. I did a lot of research on this at one time. Sundeviljay helped me out. I never went through with it. I have a new set of Z springs just wasting away in my garage.
PieroG35, what was the main reason why you did not go through with it? It seems as though it is not a worthwhile mod....since nobody has really indicated any success stories....and especially, if it will cause me to change my shocks within a few months time due to the new springs.
Anybody else have any input?

its stock...i don't see how the shocks would be affected??? i didn't even feel a change in the ride
Thanks Sundeviljay! so 3/4" in the front and 1/4" inch in the back...that's not too bad. I just read on some forums that your shocks can wear out quicker once you've changed your springs. Anyone else have some input??

This topic was discussed earlier, but regarding the 350Z Htechs, here's a link to that thread:
