Nice Numbers!!! When i said G35 TT > ANY Mustang ever, i wasnt talking about HP numbers, looks, speed, etc......just in my opinion, a Twin Turbo Luxuary coupe with 400+whp and leather seats, Infiniti lux amentites makes it a waaaay more appealing machine (to me) than any Mustang ive EVER seen...yes, ive seen a lot!

At the end of the day, car guys are car guys so im not dissing on your Mustang at all.....id rather talk about modifying mustangs than just about any other non-car related topic i can think of! hahahaha

High school must have just let out FWIW, this is real world we're talking not a fantasy land or video game.

I OWN a G35 6MT and am not narrow minded as most of the kids on this site. After owning high performance Mustang and rubbing elbows with some of the fastest Stangs in the country I would never challenge a random Mustang to a race in my G35......chances are that I'd walk away with my tail between my legs. Keep your head buried in the sand and sooner or later someone will walk by and give you a little surprise.

The G is by far not the end all of sport cars/ sports coupes....and it isn't even close when we talk powerfully fast cars.

and for that price (~$60k - $70k), plus bigger turbos ($5k), you could have bought a brand new shelby 500, and a new mustang convertible, and have enough money to drop in a vortech, and probably a no2 kit, and still have money left over for a large beef and cheddar combo at arby's.

that was the purpose of the mustang... cheap hp. that's why they will always, always, always, always sell.

... always.

not really - the new shelby 500 is probably going to be 70k once you factor in dealermarkup.

A few of my buddys have mustangs and seriosuly they have awesome torque out of the box. The only thing I didnt like about it was how it became so unstable at high speeds. Gotta love the sound of burly V-8 at idle and at WOT!!
I don't understand why someone in this forum with a G35 would say that it is a slow car. Let's get real here, if we had to bet $1000.00 between a stock 06Mustang and a stock 06 G35 6MT on a 1/4 mile strip where would that money go?

You may have your hands full? If he has exhaust work done he may also have some better gears (3:55's) or (3:73's) an other work? I'd say run him for fun and expect the worse BUT if you win, you'll have a big smile on your face!

it'll be a driver's race....but if those 20s are super heavy, then he'll be able to take you.

IMO, if a car runs 14's-15's in the 1/4 it's a slow car. I say that because I've had daily drivers that run in the upper/lower 12's. My current daily driver Pontiac Grand Prix runs 13.40's @ 103.92 and that's with my sons car seat and pump gas. When I ran my neighbors 05 G35/6mt from 0-100 I had about 8-10 cars (his words).

If I had to bet the $1k ..I'd put it on the mustang.

My $.02
