I am going to paint a stock 18" Coupe wheel black and replace my donut for a full size spare due to my BBK. The tire is 225/40/18.

How can I get my trunk flat?

I was thinking of making custom spacers for my whole trunk in hard foam but where do I get that stuff? I checked Home Depot...

you could just use reinforced styrofoam...or plastic spacers

I used a few pieces of styrofoam that I had from various sources.

You end up losing about half the trunk space, which for me isn't an issue, since I usually just have a back pack in there. But I've had 3 tires go flat or blow out in the past 8 months, so a full sized spare definitely comes in handy. I just leave my torque wrench in the trunk now as well.

Thanks, I will try LOWE's or go back to HOME DEPOT...

I don't really care about trunk space... I'll just use the back seats. I'd really rather have piece of mind with a spare.

EK, good idea about the torque wrench.

What about just raising the portion where the wheel protrudes up. You could just trace the outline onto the mat, cut it out, and get some matching carpeting from kragen to sew up the sides. You could also take the easy way out and go by an upholstery shop to have them do it.
