RHD Conversion. Parts?

hey everyone,
here's the deal, i'm seriously considering doing a right hand drive (RHD) conversion on my G35. i've done a RHD conversion on a 240sx about 2 years ago and it was pretty simple; but i had a complete s13 front clip so other than tacking in the jdm driver side of the firewall, the swap was as easy as switching parts, running new brake lines and extending some wires.

here's the problem, where do i get the parts? i called every import/performance shop here in hawaii and they all said they can't get it.........kind of figured that. i just figured i'd broaden my search. here's what i know i need:
*V35 skyline dash
*V35 skyline steering rack and steering arms

here's what i might need (if the LHD parts won't work):
*V35 skyline a/c ducting
*V35 skyline steering coloum
*V35 skyline brake booster
*V35 skyline a/c lines
*V35 a/ & heater core with blower
*etc

so, if any of you know how to get these parts or a V35 front clip (minus the engine, trans, wire harness and ecu) please let me know. thanks in advance,

brock

Contact Yoshi at http://www.j-garage.com/ . I've dealt with him before for japanese parts, not cheap though. My friend used to buy tons of JDM subaru parts from him too.

try to go on e-bay see if you can find a junk yard or an old car to ship all the parts over -- it might a little less costly

yeah i contacted yoshi and he has no V35 clips/parts right now.....he's looking into getting the parts directly from nissan = $$$$$. and i've been looking on ebay. maybe if someone has a contact (or knows someone) in japan/new zealand/etc they could get the parts from a local junk yard their and i'll pay them for their time, cost of parts/shipping, commute, etc?

let me know. i'm pretty sure i can use my LHD steering coloum, pedals and harnesses (i'll just extend those wires over. again, thanks in advance if anyone can help me out with this.

i did more looking and at first i was worried about moving everything from the jdm battery location to the usdm battery location. this would involve a lot of time/money due to that brake distribution block, harness, etc, etc. now, it seems all i need to move over is the brake booster, brake slave/resovoir (and just run the two main brake fluid lines along the firewall into the distribution block) and the clutch slave/resovoir (and running a new cluch fluid line to the transmission). i can leave the distribution block, harness, etc on that side and there should still be enough room for the battery.

now i'm reviewing the possibility of using the LHD steering rack and arms. i'm hoping to find some universal joints and rods that will run along the firewall from the right hand side of the car to the LHD steering rack. this will eliminate the need for a costly jdm rack/steering arms and running new powersteering lines, etc.

the mechanical aspect seems straight foward. the electrical is going to be a headache, but extending wires is not hard, just time consuming. the biggest aspect i'm currently worried about is the climate control. i hope the a/c and heater lines enter the firewall in the same place (jdm vs usdm), which i doubt. i have no problem eliminating the heater (i live in hawaii) but a/c is a must and it may involve me having to aqquire the a/c lines, core, blower and ducting from the jdm V35 coupe.

just posting my thoughts, if you think i missed anything and/or have something positive to add (problems i may incounter) please feel free to post.

Sell your US version G35 and bring over a fully RHD G35, they are not that exspensive in japan.. Be the first getting it legal.. Shouldnt be that hard considering most of the majority of the car is US spec anyway

Something tells me you have got time and money to blow. Hehe. Hats off to you though for knowing how to even approach something like this. Maybe think about putting this money into something that might turn more heads and everyone can enjoy, like implants for the girl...

Have you checked out Zero Systems, on the corner of Beretania and Mcully.
Prices are steep though, but maybe they can help you out with some of that stuff.
Good luck with that project. Props to you for even trying to tackle something like this. If you got the time and the cash, might as well go for it.
