I bent my G!
So I bought one of those aluminum racing jacks, the kind with the 3.5" circular pad to lift my car to do general maintenance and mods. I had been previously using this tiny little jack that took me forever to get the car up on jackstands (not the jack from the trunk).
Well, I get my shiny new jack out of it's box and decide to give it a test run. By now you've guessed that I probably began bending some of the metal underneath my car trying to raise it. It sounds stupid, but I don't know of a good place where to put this beheamouth of a pad to safely lift my car. If you could tell me how to lift up half the car at once that would be better. If you could supply a pic of the underbody, GREAT!
BTW, there's a little bump in the floor of the backseat now thanks to my lifting effors. Nothing a little stomping/jumping didn't hammer out, but the underside is still dented.
TIA.

I think you have to either buy an adaptor for the jack to fit on the OEM jack spots, or build one. You should be able to cut a groove into a hockey puck and put the hockey puck on the flat part of your racing jack, then slide the groove for the OEM jack point into the hockey puck and lift the car up that way.
Other safe spots to jack a car up are usually the transmission, differential and various suspension components.

Check this thread out for where the jackpoints are located:

The jack points on the side are also listed in your manual...but of course you already checked that

Ive always jacked my car up on the frame rails, this is ok to do right? Just want to make sure.
BTW one time i was tired as hell and jacked the car up on what i thought was the frame rail, but it was actually the closest rail to the outside of the car. Anyways it completly calapsed, and i freaked out. I took out the seat and carpet out and pounded it out with a mini sludge hammer and a small 2x4. The undercarrage is still a little pitted, but nothing to worry about.
