5 gallons left in the tank when light comes on.

The past couple of times, I filled up the gas tank when the low fuel indicator light comes on. I filled up to 15 - 15.5 gallons, meaning that there was about 5 gallons left when the fuel light came on.

Is that how it's supposed to be?
What have you guys been averaging?

Seems about right. I think that low fuel light comes on a little too early... even for an Infiniti/Nissan. I know and Altima is a Nissan, but in that car, the light came on when I had about 3 gallons left. Not too sure why they would leave a greater margin for the G.

i've noticed the float is very sensitive especially when you floor the car or take a hard turn. you can just get it warrantied and replace the float.

Mine would't fill all the way. It would only go to about 3/4-7/8 full. Took it in to get repaired under warranty and it worked fine for about 2 months but now have the same problem again. I'm taking it in tomorrow to have it looked at again.

Guys,
On the coupe, there is an issue where if the pump is fast, you'll only be able to put about 17 gallons in it even when it will hold more. It depends greatly on the pumps. I've had a few instances where I know it was empty and the guage (even after "filling" it) didn't show full. If your showing full on the guage, it might be different. But I drove down the street and still put a few more gallons in it after it settled.
