Is This Normal?

I was sitting in my car the other day with the car turned off talking on my cell phone. Everytime I park, I always put my car in first gear. Then I realized that I can put my car in any gear without stepping on the clutch. I'm basically putting it into gear just as easy as I would when I'm driving and pressing in the clutch. It literally goes in without any effort at all. Is there something wrong with my clutch? Is my car the only car that does this?

I haven't tried it with my G, but I used to have another car before I bought my G, that I was able to do that. When the car was off, I could move the shifter to any gear very easily. But once the car was on, I was not able to do so.

Therefore, it might be all cars that have this when they're off. Of course, there must be a mechanical explanation that someone can offer you as to why that is... but I would say I'm 99.9% sure it's normal.

Yeah, lol, why exactly do you think it should NOT go into any gear when neither the engine or the tranny is turning?

Of course it will... and so will every other manual transmission.
