Coupe 5 Seater?

Hi guys,
Im looking at importing a G35/V35 to Australia from Japan, but have need to occasionally carry passengers (3 kids).
They are pretty rare here and no one has more info on these than you guys.

I cannot find any info on a 5 seat coupe being available?

Does such a car exist?

If not, will a rear seat out of a sedan fit the coupe?

Don't tell me to buy a sedan if I want to take passengers. I dont really like the sedan look, and if I didn't want to take passengers I would by a 350Z.

Hey welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, the G35 coupe doesn't not fit 5 nor would any of us recommend you have people sit in the back. You want a 5 seater, gotta buy the sedan. Sorry man

I think that he has a legitimate post here. Most likly you would need to do some custom work. The rear center console would need to be removed and then you could custom make a padded seat to fit there. Additionally you would need to at the extra safty belt. All of this seem possible. We mod and customize our car all the time.....You would be just customizing it in a different way. If they can make a back seat kit for an FD RX-7(They DO!!)then you can make a middle seat for the G coupe.

As I said, I don't reall like the sedan.

Its the technicality of if can be done or not is all im worrried about, not the practicallity of the result.

I currently own an R33 Skyline GTS25T Coupe which has 5 seats, and its fine.

The FD actually came out with a back seat. (VERY SMALL ONE)
which is why I bought the R33 over the FD 3 years ago.

I'm a Skyline man now

if it's for kids...

the first thing that comes to mind is a nice luxurious chunk-o-styrofoam. And when they cry, five across the eye and say "in my day, we only had nails to sit on."

But, as the G35 coupe is built on the sedan platform, it should "technically" be possible. As for difficulty, I'd bet on "VERY" and "EXPENSIVE". Unless you do it yourself. However, retro fitting with modifications may result in reduced safety, at which point, you might be better off leaving them in a ditch.

I would seriously consider modifying the rear center partition into a small seat with some upholstery shop to finish it off as opposed to replacing the entire rear. Also, you'd have to modify the seat belts in the rear, but you'd have to do it regardless. Unless you like to kill babies.

Also, I do know that some japanese seat shops sell entire rear seats, and I believe i've seen one that is at least "flat" so you can seat 3 if needed.

YOu are

a brave soul. You want to fix five in the coupe? Holly crap man you are really asking for it. It's a pain in the butt to fix three. It is very cramped in the back with a low roof line and the automatic seats are really slow not to mention the seat belts (on the later models) are clipped to the seats so you will have to unclip the belts before anyone can climb in the back.

Something for you to think about.

That would be me...I did a Five-Seat conversion on my coupe shortly after I got it in January2003. Plenty of room back there for Three kids. Not a hard mod...

There's seating and belts for 3 back there but it's tight for anybody other than kids.
Get the Sedan : it's got all the room you need.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tell us how nice it is to be able to buy an R34 Skyline and drive it legally! Rub it in a little, I want to know how it feels! And that is a mighty fine R33 you have there.
