Warranty Coverage

I did a search on whether or not Infiniti will cover brakes as part of their warranty and found posts stating that the dealer will cover brakepads that need to be replaced up to 3 years/36k miles, whichever comes first.

My car is a 2005 Coupe with 2,500 miles on it and was wondering how true this is. I looked over the Warranty Information Booklet and didn't see anything concerning brakes unless I missed it. Where did you guys find out that bit of information?

Also, will I have to carry in my car for dealer service or can I simply schedule an appointment just for them to check the brakes - will they charge for that?

That brake coverage is only for the 03-04 non-Brembo Coupes. They changed the braking system for the 05 and up.

I'm not sure what you mean by the second part of your question, but if I interpreted it correctly, then no, they won't charge just for an inspection when you're under still under the factory warranty. You just won't have your car and they most likely won't give you a loaner, as it's not a major service. This is how it is at my dealership anyways.

that's correct. They only cover 03-04 G35s regardless sedan or coupe, non brembo only. If you are having any problems with your 05, they will cover it for 12months/12,000 miles.

answer to the seconds question is Yes, you can.

only 03-04 meaning they won't cover 05 brakepads up to 36months/36k miles but rather only up to 12months/12k miles?

It is not a rule rather an exception, some ppl having problem with their pads wearing out prematurely, if they complain hard and long enough? the dealership might offer you an "good faith" repair but there should not be anything under factory warranty for 05~06 brake pads/rotors.
