Burning Smell

Just got myself a new coupe. liquid platnum 6spd. I've driven 180 miles and there seems to be a burning smell everytime I park my car. And the smell stays there for about hour. It smells like rubber burning but can't pinpoint the smell. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This is normal since your car is brand new. You will get this smell for the first 500 and plus miles. It will go away after a whil;e though.

when they ship the cars there is a protective coating on the engine, thats the smell you are smelling, its to protect against salt water damage

That is part of the new care smell. Congrats on the new ride! I have a new G as well. Just curious, do you notice if your gears grind a bit when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear? I get this sometimes when I shift below 3000 rpms.

ah, yeah I had that smell too. This was my first brand new off the lot car, so I never had that smell before, I had to call my mom and ask her what was up.

It has since then surpassed around 800 miles or so...
