first of all, let me say that i'm sorry to hear about your g...that sucks. secondly, i don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but just graduated law school, and the law (at least here in maryland) states that even in a yellow light situation, the right of way belongs to the driver going straight. anyone turning must make sure it is clear and safe to do so. the only thing playing on your side may be the speed of the other driver. you need to find out if any tickets were issued to the other driver. otherwise, things don't look so good for you. doesn't sound fair, but this is probably the law for the most states...also an opportunity for all those on this site to get some info that may help them in the future.

Best advice, fight the insurance as best you can until you can't any longer..

yo bro i feel you man. i'm turning 19 soon, and i got into a crazy a$$ accident about a year ago... my entire front end was pushed in... luckily it was just the front bumper, grille, and headlights. none of the engine parts or stuff like that was hit... but dang man... hey tell me... when you got into your accident and stepped out of your g... what's the first thing you thought? i thought DAMN my dad is gonna kill me

hahaha

+1... my dad was actually really cool... his first question was "what did you hit ?" luckily it was all cosmetic damage (stupid parked car shouldnt of been there )
