If you add up all the money they put into their cars, plus the cost of the car, they would be able to buy a nice car. My friend's son put like 10 grand into a civic that he bought for 5 grand. Yes he works hard (has two jobs) but it drives my friend up the wall because of the money he put into it.

Maybe that web site was a little harsh, but you can't tell me you don't at least chuckle when you see a honda with one of those big ridiculous wings on the back. It's like, "are you cleared for takeoff?."

lol honestly when i was 16... my first car was a civic, it was rice I admit... I thought it was cool.. with a big wing and loud *** exhaust but kids would always burn me and make me sad

I did learn from my mistakes and afterwards I have never bought a FWD car besides a Maxima which I used as a daily driver for school because I had little money for about a year until I traded it in for an Evo! Then I totaled by Evo which brings me to a beautiful car like the G35.. so many sexy curves.. but I like this car as a show car not a race car which is better

Harsh, but funny. The only is that he said in the beginning he hates all non-american cars. Which I disagree with. Most american cars are crappy and dont last. Nothing personal - there are three american made cars in my driveway.

The site is funny but it seems as if he targets all Hondas like none of them are fast at all??? Sounds like a bitter Camaro owner to me...

Guys who think that the guy was harsh, didn't read his formulat for who is a ricer (granted, he messed up the formula by not adding a parenthesis, but his example clears up what he ment). He thinks a ricer is someone who spends MORE on APPEARANCE than he does on the sum of what he PAID for the car PLUS what he spends on PERFORMANCE. By his definition, an owner of a fast honda is NOT a ricer. Since we spent $30+ on our cars, the only way we can become ricers is if we spent more than that on looks, and none on performance.
On the other hand, if you get a civic for 3K and then put a bodykit on it for 4K, you are a ricer. However, if you add a few bolt ons for 1.5K, you are no longer a ricer, no matter how big your wing is.

I like his definition. It doesn't penalize people who enjoy a japenese-esqu boy racer look. Instead, it penalizes people that value form over function. That spend more on appearance than on the value of their car (including the value added through performance modifications).

Just be thankful that none of you are the author of that particular page. Soooo much energy, sooooo much anger, soooo little time.

OMG! That poor Civic . No car deserves to be molested like that. J/K. All that work and money the dude spent on that Civic. He could've got a way nicer and faster car. What the hell's matter with people? And the rice hater dude, I bet he dropped out of 6th grade.

I think his definition is wrong... powered by stickers isn't really cheap since stickers do cost at least $5 a piece and can add up unless you get em free from friends (who actually has the parts but doesn't care for the stickers), but it shouldn't add up to the cost of any car, nor is it any less rice than a body kit with a huge spoiler and i/c look intake filter, or a stupid **** that thinks an aftermarket cat-back exhaust and/ or intake is gonna make real power (sad thing is, I see alot of that here on this forum)
